I installed the package "ttf-font-awesome" via yaourt and added the necessary unicode characters to my i3status config and added the font pango as "FontAwesome" to my i3bar config.

The icons should be displaying but all that shows are the unicode characters. Is there a specific package I need to install or did I edit the configs improperly?

Get Windows Terminal free from the Store. You can also get it from GitHub's releases but I recommend the store because it'll stay up to date automatically.

I just installed Go, then installed powerline-go with go get. Be warned. If you do all this and you see squares and goofy symbols, it's likely that the font you're using doesn't have the advanced Powerline glyphs. Those glyphs are the ones that make this prompt look so cool! At the time of this writing there is active talk of getting Powerline and other Nerd Fonts into Cascadia Codethe new font that ships with Windows Terminal.

It looks like the NerdFonts patching process breaks the ligatures - I tried their version of Fira Code and the DelugiaCode font and ligatures were broken for both. Jim Paton. Ignore me. Yeah you were both correct. The fonts were not being called in Polybar that contained the proper unicode glyphs.

It may seem silly, but I cannot find out how to install Terminus such that I can use it as a regular font. I also want to make it my default console font and for everything else, but I have no idea how.

I have tried using the Ubuntu Software Center, but the font is not there. I have tried the xfonts-terminus package, but it does not appear in my font list. I tried downloading the source manually, but there are no ttf or otf files. Any ideas? You will likely need to enable bitmap fonts on your system to install this font as offered by the developer. I think you can run: sudo dpkg-reconfigure console-setup to set the font once it is installed.
